The blogpost you haven’t seen before

I know, I know, we’ve all seen this before. I just can’t stop thinking about how I want to get back on track with the way things were. Allow me to vent my reoccurring thoughts for the new year, 2018.

As I reflect on the past year, I’ve gained a lot of wisdom, friends, love, and…well, laziness.

I haven’t been eating as healthy as I used to. Earlier in 2014, I lost a ton of weight through daily workouts and healthy eating habits and this inevitably led me to slip into a size FOUR! At the current time, I can’t say that I can feel my jeans getting tighter, or my shirts getting smaller so in the back of my mind I believe I have some immunity from gaining weight. Wrong. Totally wrong. I look in the mirror and I am not the same woman I was literally one year ago.

I have been smoking cigarettes and drinking way more wine than I should. This is a no-brainer. I am DONE with cigarettes starting TODAY.

I really want to start reading more. I always say this, but I can never remain interested in the book I am reading. I’m guilty of a wandering mind and lack of patience.

I think I’ve made it obvious what I plan to work on in 2018. Three goals, one mindset. What’s on your mind lately?

  1. My sista! Good for you, Bluesy! Glad to hear the change of heart! I , definitely , understand where you are coming from. I love to write, but reading gets the best of me. I always want to read, but then I get bored lol! Only one book kept my attention all the way through. Maybe you should check it out. Its called “Timeline.” There is a movie for it too, starring Paul Walker! [May he rest in peace.] I’ve just started doing keto dieting (low carbs) so, I’m hoping this will help me to shed some fat. I am trying to read more also, so Ill share anything interesting that I find with you. Keep on posting, Blue, and congrats on your change, again. I don’t know if you believe in Jesus or not, but Ill keep you in prayer either way!

    1. Thank you, Kalan! Much appreciated. I’d much rather write than read. I think reading has many benefits for us as writers because we can learn new ways to get our point across, without stating it directly. I haven’t seen the movie Timeline. I will keep the book in mind for sure! I need to get over to the library and kick-off the new year right lol. Thanks again for your generous feedback. Highly appreciated.

  2. Congratulations on making a life change. I’ve learned that losing weight is more about eating less, not eating grass. It’s taken a while for me to take off 25 pounds, and I’d like to make it 35. But I’m not giving up chocolate or wine or spaghetti. Just drinking and eating half of what I usually do. You can too. Have a great holiday and New Year!

    1. Thanks, Claudia! 25 pounds is something to be proud of! You are right. It is about eating less. I didn’t really eat salads during my weight loss journey. I ate a lot of chicken, rice, salmon and veggies. I stayed away from sugar as much as possible and the weight just slipped right off. Thanks for the comment, I am going to remain as faithful as possible to my word. It’s something I really want.
