Be your own kind of beautiful

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Does your reflection smile back at you with ease, or are you lost in your own contemplation?

The way we see ourselves correlates to the way others see us…better known as perception.

If we are unhappy or unaccepting with ourselves, we typically tend to indirectly communicate these undeniable feelings to others. As a result, we become nuisances to our peers, and simultaneously build a sense of disturbance with ourselves. This happens regardless of whether we are or are not consciously aware of it.

In retrospect, there have been many times I can recall looking in the mirror discontent with myself and all the negative thoughts that went with it. In the past, I have indirectly conveyed my own personal feelings to others through random mood swings, impersonal tone of voice, and a strong resting bitch face.

On the other hand, there have been many days I woke up and saw beauty, confidence, and charm; yet still walked around with little to no regard to how others may have perceived me. As long as you feel happy and beautiful, this is all that matters. Forget about your bad days from the past. Focus on right here, and right now. We cannot 646c9e6d87b30c968b2e15c2f9ff8d54--quotes-calligraphy-handwriting-inspirational-calligraphy-quoteschange the world’s views, only our view of the world. This includes our self.

This is why I am here now, writing about being your own kind of beautiful. Because at the end of the day, we shut our eyes and we forget about feeling ugly. The more we appreciate our reflection, the more others will appreciate our resting bitch face. So, be your own kind of beautiful. Be you.

  1. I love this part where you said: “We cannot change the world’s views, only our view of the world.”

I totally agree to this! To live a positive life, we should always try not to worry about what other people say against us and just be our own selves!

  2. Love this post! We can’t force someone’s way of thinking, but we can love ourselves and try to make the best of things. Once again, lovely!
